Guys, listen up.
I’ve been to tons of weddings right? I’ve seen tons of wedding related stuff, right? I have a pinterest board called “All things wedding” with like a bajilion pins, right? I sleep and breathe weddings, right?
So freaking TRUST ME when I say: you need a good florist. You need pretty flowers. Like, for real.
I’m telling you that once you get your photographer, the florist should be immediately the next person you need to book!
It doesn’t even matter at what venue your wedding will be at. A good floral design will always make your wedding look beautiful.
Have your wedding in your backyard, for goodness sake, and save up the money to invest in flowers! You won’t regret it.
And if it’s not asking too much, have flowers for your bridals too. It makes a huge difference.
I take this flower business so serious that last Saturday, I threw a bouquet together 20 minutes before heading to a bridal session, because my bride didn’t have a bouquet. I used the flowers her fiance had given her earlier that day, grabbed a few leaves from my frontyard, and made it happen.
No, this does not mean you should buy the flowers yourself and skip hiring a florists. Don’t. I’m just trying to say that it’s super important, that’s all.
Plus, I want to brag about my bouquet, cuz really- for someone who has never done this before, having 20 minutes and a few flowers and coming up with this… is pretty LEGIT.
Now, if you don’t want your photographer doing all the floral work, my all time favorite Utah floral designer is Sarah Winward of Honey of a Thousand Flowers. She is brilliant, and wish every client of mine would hire her. DO IT!
