I know it’s the most wonderful time of the year when my 2-bedroom/tinny house is packed with 15 people to the point that there’s no privacy left, and I just sit in the middle of the mess with the biggest smile on my face. When I picture heaven, I picture this.
It’s cold outside, but my heart is surely the warmest it’s been in months. So, let the holidays begin!

Because Rebeca and I grew up together, I can’t but be in shock every time I look at these! What ever happen to those two little girls that would play dress up on Sunday afternoons? It can’t possibly be that long since we last watched princess movies together, and talked about princes-to-be!
I’ve been married for three years now, but I always felt like an exception, meaning, just because I’m married, doesn’t mean time has gone by – type of thing. But when I see my best friends from the time we all wore diapers get engaged… MAN! I feel all grown up and what not.
Rebeca became a lovely woman, and seeing her this happy with Alexander makes me happy too. Indeed, our little girl’s dreams of finding our princes and having our princess wedding seem to have finally come true.

While I waited for Kait and Micah to arrive, I was approached by this group of guys with cameras, and they asked if they could interview me.
Their question was, “What’s on your bucket’s list?”
I was quite surprised to hear what seemed to flow so naturally from my mouth.
I guess everybody has a bucket’s list, even me.
Here it is:
- Find out that I am actually a witch, and attend Hogwarts
- Be locked overnight at Barnes & Noble
- Live in Paris
- Have a pet piglet
- Have a house full of windows. Maybe even a glass house.
- Receive peonies for my birthday, with the number of bouquets matching my age (Geoff, rush! It will get too expensive when I’m 50!)
- Visit Greece
- Have Bon Iver dedicate a song to me
- Live til I die in Brazil
- Learn how to sing
- Write a novel about a boy named Yan
- Be a ballerina for a day
- Create a fashion line
- Shoot 100% film
- Have super smart and funny kids
- Be in love forever
Yeah, I think that’s about it.
The rest of the day was completely different from that point on. I keep looking around me and seeing endless possibilities.
And I wondered what these two would want for their lives.
I hope they get it all.

Every now and then, I meet a couple like Duvae and Nate.
The happy-giggly-super-in-love type, you know?
The type of couple who could spend the afternoon staring at each other, then go to a restaurant and sit on the same side of the table.
The type of couple who, by comparison, makes you look like misery.
You know?

Which makes me wonder if they will be able to sleep tonight.
The day before my wedding day I was DEAD, but I could not make myself just freaking fall asleep.
This will sound silly- but I was actually scared of missing it.
Like, not hearing my alarm and actually miss MY wedding day.
Ridiculous, I know. The crazy things brides will come up with!
(my sister was actually worried about how her “I do” would sound- she wanted to get it right)
Oh yeah, the night before my wedding, I asked my parents if I could sleep with them one last time.
And I did.

Oh my. It has been two years since we took our engagement pictures!
There are 2 things I think about when I see these:
1) I must have gained 15lbs since then :O
2) But love remains the same.
So, it is my wish that Cody and Jackie can look back at these two years from now, and still be just as crazy about each other as they are now.
Oh yeah, and I hope Jackie can still fit in those jeans too!
