Spotted: Viscaya, Miami.

Wednesday, November 30th, 2011

Miami holds a special place in my heart. It was the first place I lived after I left the nest, where I became a grown up, and where I met the man I would marry. My favorite thing about Miami is that no matter where you’re from, you can feel at home. It’s so culturally diverse that you can fit right in.
I lived there for a year, and I miss it dearly. Whenever we go visit, I like to bike  around Coconut Grove, eat at my favorite restaurants and bakery (Green Street, L’Atelier Gourmet, Tutto Pizza, and Akashi), and get a haircut at Nikita.
I normally don’t do the turistic thing, but Viscaya will always be an exception. It’s such a beautiful place, I could spend all day around the gardens.

Spotted: Family, Macaroons, and Peonies.

Three little luxuries I can’t live without.
Thanksgiving is only thanksgiving if spent in Miami with the in-laws. It’s a tradition I hope to always keep. Our week was filled with good pastry, bike rides at the marina, and picking on my mother and father-in law.
Now, I just have to endure two weeks of school and finals… and it’s OVER!! My family is flying in from Brazil, I have one freaking entire month of vacations, and then I’m off to Paris. Oh yeah.

Spotted: A Red, Purple and Yellow Fall Wedding!

Wednesday, November 23rd, 2011

Emotional, and intimate. I cannot describe this wedding better. I laughed and cried all day, and at the end, my heart was filled with joy for having witnessed such compilation of special moments. As I worked through these pictures, I fell in love with the whole day all over again. Are you ready? This one is a special one, you’ll see.

Kait’s dress was to droll for.

Her little sister passed away a few years ago, and her presence was both felt and missed at the wedding. She had this bouquet made just for her, her maid of honor.

Christmas Charity Shoot!

Monday, November 14th, 2011

It’s that time of the year, peeps! Time to go all out with the golds and the silvers, reds and greens. Time to cozy up by the fireplace and drink all thinks coco, apple, and cinnamon.
It’s also that time of the year to send greeting cards!! AND that time of the year when, you know,  you’re  just EXTRA nice.
I decided to put all these good things together and launch my very own CHRISTMAS CHARITY SHOOT!
I will be scheduling mini family sessions for a few weeks, for only $100. Yes, you heard me. And ALL OF IT will go to an organization, or person in need- I’m still looking for a very special one. Again, absolutely every penny!
SO TELL YOUR FAMILY! TELL YOUR FRIENDS! I’m capping this at 20 sessions due to some time concerns (Boo!) – hurry up!

To view an example of a family session (since I don’t post these here): The Leão’s Family Shoot

Don’t you just love the holidays?
