Morgan, UT- Estate Wedding Photographer

Thursday, August 19th, 2010

Look at me, all homesick and everything.
My gypsy life is great- but sometimes I just want my bed, my sister, and my fat cat Kiwi.

So this one takes me back to Utah.
To the Salt Lake temple.
To the mountains of Morgan.

Love,
P

Sunflower Fields [Travel Photography]

Tuesday, August 17th, 2010

You probably know by now how much I love Paris.
Yet, my heart belongs to the French countryside.

I’d live in a small cottage in the middle of this.
I’d take long walks through the wildflowers fields, and hang lavender on my porch.
My main mean of transportation would be a horse, with a prince on it’s back.
I’d do it all.

We took a walk around Sologne, and found many pleasant surprises.
Like these delicious wild nectarines.

I know I married the right man when I see this face:

He makes me smile.

Below, a picture that will just made me LOVE the “summer” in France.

I bought this jacket in Paris thinking it would be a lovely find in my October wardrobe. Surprise!

Short jackets that still warm up your buns are a must for this winter ;)

When I was about 9, I had 7 hamsters. I would often plant the sunflower seeds they left behind around the backyard. It would always surprise my mom how easily they grew. When she tried planting them for real, it would never work. “They have to be the hamster-type, mom!” – i’d tell her.

These however, did not come from hamsters. I was also told that the reason they are there is to attract ducks- so that they can be hunted.
Devious.

Now, I am 99% confident that I found the entrance to Wonderland.

And this might just as well be the exit.

The next 2 go to my dream list:
[ ] Horse
[ ] Lovely cottage

Add someone to share these with, and my list is complete.

XOXO,
P

When it rains [Travel Photography]

Saturday, August 14th, 2010

A lot of us live under the impression that rain ruins pictures. Or days.
Brides and photographers always pray for sunny days. Rain gives them wrinkles.

For me, it’s kind of like the lemon-lemonade principle.
Embrace it.

Today was the perfect day to go explore some indoor places I had in mind for our trip.
One of them was the Palais de Tokyo (Paris). It’s a museum/restaurant/store/hang out kind of place.
We found the cutest photo booth.
The image quality was horrible, which gives this really cool vintage look to the picture. It made my day!

We found some secret gardens right under the Palais. It was breathtaking! If you ever go to the Palais de Tokyo, make sure you go there. It’s a hidden paradise.

While I was trying to set my camera’s timer, Geoff was busy looking like Mogli.

You cannot believe how much I wish I could plant something like this inside my house.

We then found these secret stairs to a roof that had a beautiful view to the Eiffel Tower.
When I say “secret” I mean that it was probably trespassing. But secret sounds a lot more enigmatic.

Rainy days and shopping are a perfect match.
I’m glad I live in a desert! Geoff would kill me if we lived in like… Forks.

Paris has the biggest Louis Vuitton in the world. FABULOUS.
I loved this dress. But I could probably buy a car instead.

Now, what is wrong with the picture below?

I’ll tell you what’s wrong: Louis Vuitton and CROCS?? Really?

We finally hit the fair by the Louvre Museum. The one with the Ferris-wheel, you know?
I don’t recommend it though. They kind of rip you off, and it is a bit dirty.
What I do recommend is cotton candy mustaches.
It’s a MUST.

Au revoir,

Château de Versailles Vs. Other touristic places

Friday, August 13th, 2010

I am not a big fan of crowds.
No traumatizing story behind it. That’s just me. I avoid them.
But Paris!
Yes, Paris is crowded- but it’s so fabulous!
So I’ll take it. I must make an exception.

I do, however, pick the touristic spots that are REALLY worth it’s crowds.
One of them is definitely the Chateau de Versailles.

Skip the Chateau itself though. It’s all about the gardens. You WILL fall in love.

Geoff and I rarely get pictures together. Become a photographer and you’ll know why.
Today, however, was like our Engagements all over again- but with a tripod.

Don’t you just love our Calvin Klein faces?

For the one above and the one below, we were sneaky and went on a “Staff only” part of the garden. Don’t do that- or do it with style.

The picture below is strictly to show off Geoff’s photographic skills.
I do think my outfit is quite the buy though ;)

Fine. Fine. You might want to go inside the Chateau.
But just to check out their chandeliers.

I felt so Marie Antoinetteish while walking through this room.

{Don’t ever die before visiting the Chateau de Versailles. The end.}

Now, the Louvre.
I should have avoided the Louvre.
Especially when it’s the anyone-younger-than-26-gets-in-for-free day.
But that’s just me.

I leave you today with a place that I loved to visit, and recommend.
Best part: No crowds.

The Collection

This is a Decoration Store full of new and brilliant ideas.
They’re best selling products are these wall stickers/paper that can turn your boring living spaces into “genuine fake” cool places. Add a library, light stands, or cute sayings to your home just by peeling and sticking.

They also have an online shop. You know what that means ;)

XOXO,
P

No really, thank YOU.

Being only blonde at heart, I always knew there was no beach in Paris.
I had, however, a lovely surprise this morning.

For about a month during the summer, Paris transforms some of it’s spots into full-fledged beaches.
Take that Geography!
After retouching my tan, I hit some of the garden fairs around the city.

In fact, I decided that it’s time for me to turn my house a little greener.
I thought this would never be possible, since I live in like 100 m(squared) and have no backyard.
Yet again, I was surprised in Paris.

Wall Gardens!

You just have to nail these cute looking sacs to your wall, and plant whatever you want.

By Woolypocket

A little interruption for some anonymous love. If you’re this couple, this is yours to take:
Because everybody should have the right to kiss in Paris, at least once.

Now, like I promised, my favorite store in Paris:

Merci- the most fabulous Concept Store

The store itself is a loft, where you browse from room to room, enjoying some top notch eye-candy.
There is also a cute little restaurant, and chairs to cozy up to a book and enjoy a little drink.

Some sweets I found in there:

Paper-thin plastic vases and my dream library

The vase above is shaped in a way to fit in any banister. How cute is that?

(x) Love it

And the BEST PART OF IT IS: this store is 100% philanthropic. A bunch of cool designers got together and decided to do some good to the world- and to shopaholics like me. Merci!

On a total random note: I ate duck today, and I liked it. Which is a HUGE deal for me.
Mom and Dad must be proud.

XOXO,

P

5 days in Paris

Wednesday, August 11th, 2010

I woke up this morning and found myself in Paris

So I went along with it.
I hired the hottest Frenchman (a.k.a Mr. Gautier) to guide me around ,

And we walked around checking pretty things, and pretty places, and fabulous foods.
Here is some of it:

- My favorite store in Paris! (I’ll talk about it tomorrow)

I do not attempt to drive in this city, but if I dared, I’d pick this:

I bought the following drink solely because of the bottle. No regrets.

I hunt doors and locks in Europe, then hang them on my walls.

If I could dress anything to stroll around the streets of the city of lights, it’d be this:

Too bad they don’t make princess’s dresses for kids my age.

At last, I leave you with these:

Au revoir.
